Infrastructure & Track Engineering Manager

The Infrastructure & Track Engineering Manager role is to provide optimised management of the Infrastructure and Track assets for the Dubai Metro, in collaboration with all the parties and stakeholders. The Infrastructure and Track Engineering Manager is accountable for :


  • the delivery of all assets under his responsibility as per the business KPIs, in conformity with all maintenance schedule and with the required level of reliability,


  • the improvement of the performance of maintenance teams (quality, efficiencies),


  • the definition, the preparation, the planning of all asset's repairs, overhauls, obsolescence management under his responsibility.




  • Plan, allocate and manage resources in order to provide effective maintenance and technical services to deliver the expected level of performance defined in the KPIs, for all Infrastructure and Track under his scope.  (mainline and depot power supply rail, traction bonding, tracks, lineside drainage system, building structures which includes stations, depots, system ancillary buildings, sub-stations, cutting, embankments, walls, tunnels, signage & ground surfaces, elevated guideway & bridges and car parks) .


  • Organise the team to deliver first line rapid response services to ensure the expected level of performance defined in the KPIs,


  • Ensure that tools, spare parts and other parts are requested and procured in line with the different maintenance activities,


  • Manage his team to ensure that all activities within his scope are covered and efficiently managed,


  • Ensure a high level of cooperation with all parties and stakeholders through cooperative spirit, anticipation, guidance, pro-active preparation of meetings, training, etc.


  • Ensure data quality and improvement of data collection in MMS and other Infrastructure and Track,


  • Be responsible for the financial performance of his activity, through budgeting, respecting budget, proposing and implementing efficiencies (manpower, maintenance, spare spending,…)


  • Carry out 24-hour on-call responsibility for incidents and emergency within its department.




  • Must be a skilled manager in communicating, motivating and developing staff.


  • Thorough understanding of all aspects of safety issues related to railway operations and maintenance.


  • Highly motivated and flexibility to work in a time-sensitive environment to respond quickly and effectively to unanticipated high workloads, events and emergencies.


  • Ability to think laterally and analyse and assess a range of information.


  • Ability to multi-task and analyse situations promptly and without bias so as to determine the proper course of action or alternatives without jeopardising human safety, quality and the committed performance targets.


  • Hold a valid driving license with good driving skills and experience.




  • Minimum 15 years of relevant working experience in Infrastructure and Track maintenance.


  • At least 4 years of supervisory and management experience with the ability to manage one or more depots including Infrastructure and Track maintenance section with an aim to minimise the system unavailability and asset life cycle costs of the Infrastructure and Track.


  • Experience in asset management system and its tools (control and optimise the use of maintenance and technical repositories, follow up and optimisation maintenance budget).




  • Degree or high diploma in electrical or mechanical engineering discipline or equivalent;
