Keolis Hyderabad is the service provider for operating & maintaining the Hyderabad metro train services at Hyderabad, Telangana, India. Hyderabad metro is an elevated metro system which, in future, will run on a network of 72 kilometers track distance. 56 kms of track distance is operational as of now. 2.6 Lacs passengers are transported per day on this project.


Keolis Hyderabad has been awarded the contract L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited who is the principal employer of the Hyderabad Metro Rail project.

The Chief Technical Officer is accountable for delivery, in operational conditions, of all technical assets necessary to operate the Hyderabad metro system.


As such, in coherence with strategic business targets, the Chief Technical Officer is in charge of:

  • Maintenance Division and its Departments’ strategic and organisational definition (mid-term and long-term)
  • Management of all operational (rolling stock, power supply & OHE, telecom, fare collection, track, signalling, MEP & Buildings, IT, including enterprise, AMS & Systems) and support (engineering, supply chain, planning) teams in maintenance division
  • Implementing both corrective and preventive maintenance on all assets of the system
  • Organization of
  • Asset management strategy and optimization (lifecycle cost reduction within RAMS objectives)
  • Maintenance prescription definition and optimization
  • Covering needs of the Operations division (Coordination with Maintenance Departments)
  • Supply Chain, Contracts, Purchase and Stores management
  • Division budget:
  • Assessment of means and resources needed; planning and optimization
  • Remaining within limits of allocated resources (control and survey)
  • Within the Maintenance Division, definition, implementation of processes, procedures and control, ensuring full respect of:
  • External constraints due to rail safety, work laws and environmental considerations
  • Expected RAMS delivery
  • Ensuring proper technical data collection and records
  • Analysing collected data for process optimization and lifecycle cost reduction
  • Maintaining tools needed for activities of Maintenance division such as Asset Management System and system related tools, including calibration
  • Internal business management policy (HR, quality, financial, supply chain).
  • Shall be in charge of the following Project activities;
    • Review of Contractor’s documents
    • Handover process of all assets.
    • Designated as Employer’s Representative Assistant (ERA) for management of DLP for project works
  • 15-20 years’ experience in management of a maintenance or industrial organisation with minimum 5 years in a rail environment
  •  At least 5 years spent in a leadership position
  • Demonstrated ability in
  • Human leadership
  • People and change management
  • Asset management
  • Strong background in
  • Technical matters (ideally with regards to railway systems)
  • Legal and regulations issues related to public transport (ideally in a railway context)
  • Commercial issues with experience in developing and reviewing contracts
  • Financial management in cost centre and budget preparation and review
  • Procurement experience for parts and services
  • Up-to-date industrial best practices (lean management, etc…).
