Keolis is currently evolving in a competitive and complex ecosystem which requires  a constant quest of Excellence to improve our industrial performance, standardize our proven practices and develop our skills in operations.


To meet these challenges, the Keolis Executive Committee has launched in september 2019 a worldwide program named KIHO, e.i Keolis Industrialize and Harmonize its Operations, based on Lean management principles


KIHO aims to


  • Improve the operational and economic performance of Operations (network design, operations scheduling and execution…)
  • Ensure the good mastery of the basic of the operational tasks and practices (including Security, Safety, Customer Service and tools used) of Operations.
  • Acquire and disseminate the appriopriate working methods and behaviors in order to meet the Safety, Quality and Cost objectives.


To support the design and the deployment of the KIHO program within the subsidiaries of the Keolis group (+150 subsidiaries / 65,000 employees worldwide), the position of Senior KIHO deployment Manager has been created.


Her/his main missions will be:

  • Deploy the KIHO program in international subsidiary (Q4 -2021), in collaboration with the local operations Manager / local KIHO Senior Leader.(change leader?)
  • Steer operationnaly the local KIHO deployment in collaboration with the local operations Manager and his team.
  • Enhance the economical & operational performce of the KIHO program implementation in collaborativer manner with the subsidiary
  • Adapt and build the KIHO framework based on different levels of maturity and transportation modes.
  • Ensure the continuous improvement of the KIHO program: capitalization of good practices; development of the corpus/framework from experiences, practices …
  • Coach / train the local team to upgrade their competencies / skills in accordance with KIHO guidelines and improvement proposals.


Mobility :  Flexible – strong willingness to travel to support  France & international subsidiary in their deployment.


The Project  Manager -Operational Excellence is responsible for supporting local managers (operations ; KIHO Leader…) to carry out and facilitate the deployment of the KIHO program within the subsidiaries validated.


This deployment aims to analyze and improve all the key processes driving the operation, (1) from Design network (studies & Methods), Scheduling, … to operations execution, (2) and steering the operational and economic performance of the activities.


This position reports to the Senior Group KIHO Project Manager

Her/His missions / roles:

  • Facilitate and contribute directly to the kick off of the progam and the analysis of the operations value chain in subsidiaries with local teams.
  • Co design and build with the local management team and KIHO local representatives the improvement actions plan
  • Ensure an effective improvement actions implementation by coordinating the local ressources and group Operations experts involvment (Hastus solutions ; Design network…experts) when necessary.
  • Steer and facilitate on the field with the local Manager/KIHO leader assigned, the actions implementation and coaching/training sessions.
  • Foster and bring expertise to the local team to evaluate all operational and economic performance gains related to KIHO deployment (PerfEco)
  • Set up a  robust KIHO governance process : Implementation planning & reportings, steerco meetings, project implementation follow ups, ….
  • Sustain the KIHO gains and its implementation  by ensuring  that the proven practices, methods and organization promoted by the KIHO program is set up.

Participate actively to the KIHO program improvement: operational feedback, grasp proven practices from deployment, writte down methods, cookbooks…

Key Information

2022 Q1/Q2:  French subsidiaries (Littoral, Bayonne) + pilots in international subsidiaries (Montréal, Waterloo) based on the KIHO road map

2022 Q3/Q4: Start of roll out in international subsidiaries




Senior profile with good knowledge and solid field experience in operating activities and Continuous Improvement in the context of organizational transformation projects.


Education / Background

  • Engineering or Business University Degree: B.S or M.S (Engineering / Business School).
  • Minimum 2 years of hands on experience in operations (Design network, Operations execution…in Transport and Mobility business)
  • Minimum 2 years of hands on experience in transformation projects.
  • Experience in Project management and deployment in multicultural and complex environments.
  • English& French fluent, other languages appreciated.



  • Experience in Operations in a transport/mobility subsidiary : Bus, Trams, Trains
  • Experience in Continuous Improvement (Lean, 6sigma ...) and in cultural change projects.
  • Willingness  for a career development as Operations Director, Transformation projects.


Skills - Competencies / Behaviour

  • The OPEX Project Manager must be hands-on and detail-oriented while  being able to see the big picture and make the necessary decisions during the analysis, co design and the full implementation phases.
  • He has to be able to think strategically and view the entire business (Business stakes, PTA ambitions and subsidiary’s objectives).
  • He must be very Customer focused, able to identify and monitor the operational & financial gains identified.
  • He must be able to transcribe and enhance within the subsidiaries supported, the Group's initiatives and strategic objectives (PerfEco), both in terms of operational performance and in economic terms
  • He will have to deliver tangible results impacting positively the Profit & Loss & Work Trade Capital.
  • He will need to be a quick learner who can rapidly adapt to our culture, gain the confidence of the Subsidiary’s organization.
  • Acting as an influencer, he has high energy, positive mindset, strong interpersonal and communication skills to be able to handle conflict. He
  • He is an independent worker, able to operate in an ever changing environment and effectively deal efficiently with difficult situations.
