We are optimizing our core business—Mass Transit maintenance—through rigorous knowledge management and standardized processes and KPIs across our networks. This role transforms proven expertise into consistent, high-performance execution worldwide.

 

This position requires approximately 50% travel (within France and/or internationally).

 

 

Missions

 

The Maintenance Workstream Leader defines strategy and translates it into execution and delivers all tender-related outputs on time while ensuring cross‑workstream alignment. The role combines strategic design, operational coordination, and data‑driven decision‑making.

 

Strategy & Organization

  • Set the Maintenance & Asset Management strategy for bids and execution
  • Design optimal, high‑performing maintenance organizations (roles, headcount, competencies)
  • Build costed maintenance models aligned with defined operating requirements
  • Leverage Group knowledge to identify, evaluate, and integrate innovations and best practices
  • Cascade the operational strategy to workstream contributors (Experts of our centers of Excellence)

Production & Coordination of Deliverables

  • Coordinate the production and timely delivery of all tender outputs (technical plans, RFP deliverables, costing inputs and assumptions, organizational charts for execution)
  • Lead and manage subject matter experts and writers within the workstream
  • Ensure consistency and alignment with other Workstream Leaders across all deliverables

Analyses & Decisions

  • Develop business cases and initiatives relevant to the workstream
  • Run scenario analyses (make‑or‑buy, availability, CMMS selection) and benchmark alternatives
  • Present clear, evidence‑based recommendations
  • Provide accurate costing inputs and assumptions to the Finance Workstream Leader

 

 

Profile

 

Core technical expertise

  • Minimum of 10 years’ proven experience in rolling stock and/or infrastructure maintenance management, within mass transit (tram, metro, railway)
  • Strong track record in project delivery, including major railway projects
  • Solid knowledge of rail safety regulations and regulatory frameworks governing industrial workforce management (HSQE, Industrial Relations, Environmental)

Business, planning & analytical skills

  • Ability to define bid strategy and to perform bid writing and contract reviews (operation & maintenance and other contract types)
  • Experience developing costed maintenance models and providing robust costing inputs and assumptions
  • Proven capacity to run scenario analyses and build business cases (make‑or‑buy, availability, CMMS selection, benchmarking)
  • Demonstrated experience in cross‑functional business areas: finance, HR, employee/industrial relations, HSQE and operations

Management & stakeholder relations

  • Experience designing and implementing maintenance organizations (roles, headcount, competencies) and in change management (organization, strategy, innovation)
  • Proven experience working with subcontractors and partners: preparing specifications, reviewing offers and managing contracts
  • Experience in multicultural environments and ability to perform under pressure

Communication & leadership

  • Clear, persuasive communicator able to distil complex topics into concise, actionable messages; strong synthesis and influencing skills (written and oral)
  • Experience managing subject matter experts and coordinating contributors across disciplines

Languages & location

  • Working proficiency in English (written, spoken, reading). Additional languages are an asset

Based in Lyon or Paris; role requires approximately 50% travel (France and international)
