Cadet Technician

The key objective of this position is to assist and provide comprehensive technical support to the line maintenance team, and to ensure that the rolling stock operate in a safe and reliable manner for Dubai Metro.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic
- Support the organization’s maintenance and operational objectives by executing assigned technical tasks diligently and accurately.
- Contribute to a safe, reliable, and efficient metro operation by adhering to approved procedures and standards
Financial
- Assist in minimizing maintenance costs by following correct maintenance practices and avoiding rework or wastage.
- Support proper use, handling, and care of tools, equipment, and spare parts.
- Assist in identifying defects or observations early to prevent costly failures or service disruptions.
Stakeholder / Customer
- Maintain clear and proactive communication with internal stakeholders including team leaders, engineers and other team members
- Support a positive customer experience by ensuring maintenance activities are carried out safely, efficiently
Operational
- Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities independently, in accordance with approved maintenance manuals, work instructions, and safety procedures.
- Assist in inspections, technical cleaning, testing, fault finding, and rectification of rolling stock systems, equipment, and components.
- Ensure accurate completion of maintenance records, checklists, and defect reports in the maintenance management system.
- Comply with health, safety, quality, and environmental requirements while working in depots, workshops, and on-site locations.

- Must have good eyesight and normal colour vision
- Require working on shift duties and in any of the workshop facilities in Dubai metro
- Encourage teamwork, best practice and consistent knowledge sharing

- Safety Compliance – Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to safety regulations and standards
- Environmental Regulations – Navigating compliance with environmental rules and regulations, particularly in terms of waste disposal and emissions from maintenance activities.
KEY COMPETENCIES (First Year)
Technical Competencies
- Technical Knowledge – Basic understanding of technical systems. Ability to perform basic inspection, simple components replacement and equipment’s technical cleaning independently. Ability to understand the train and depot equipment’s configuration.
- Tools and Equipment Handling – Ability to use simple and basic tools and measuring instruments correctly.
- Maintenance Documentation – Ability to make basic entries in maintenance records, ability to fill the maintenance checklist and measurement forms of the task performed.
- Safety Awareness – Basic understanding of workplace safety rules, PPE requirements and usage, and safe working practices.
Behavioural Competencies
- Discipline – Demonstrate punctuality, responsibility and adherence to company rules and procedures. Excellent attendance management in HRIS system
- Communication – Understand and follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with team members. Demonstrate active listening during briefing, toolbox talk etc.
- Teamwork – Work cooperatively with the team by sharing the information, supporting peers and contribute positively to the team tasks.
KEY COMPETENCIES (Second Year onwards)
Technical Competencies
- Technical Knowledge – Understanding of functionality and applicability of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic system. Ability to trace the various electrical and pneumatic circuits.
- Ability to complete the assigned preventive and corrective maintenance tasks. Ability to perform safety critical inspections, identify and correct reporting of the defects / observations.
- Tools and Equipment Handling – Correct and safe use of advance and diagnosis tools
- Maintenance Documentation – Ability to follow procedures, work instructions and ability to accurately complete the maintenance documents (check sheets, forms etc) for the task performed.
- Safety Awareness – Basic understanding of workplace safety rules, adherence to the safe system of work, PPE requirements and usage, and safe working practices. Ability to follow safety instructions, lock out tag out process and report unsafe conditions.
Behavioural Competencies
