The purpose of this position is to assist to establish and maintain a comprehensive materials and services catalogue in IBM Maximo to support the efficient operation and maintenance of Dubai Metro.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop a best industry practice cataloguing procedure for the Dubai Metro asset management information system (IBM Maximo).
- Create / review Item IDs for new spares, tools and services in Maximo in accordance with the cataloguing procedure.
- Work in partnership with the Engineering, Procurement and Logistics teams to review, analyse, and update all current Maximo catalogue information. This aims to ensure comprehensive specifications, accurate classifications, and appropriate purchasing parameters.
- Develop and lead an inventory analysis programme to periodically update the inventory purchasing parameters in Maximo.
- Ensure that appropriate governance is applied to manage all change requests for existing inventory parameters.
- Work in partnership with the Engineering and Stores teams to define and implement a structured method for combining duplicate items in Maximo.
- Define the requirements to monitor and measure inventory related KPI’s.
- Support the material forecasting and budgeting processes through the analysis and reporting of inventory usage.
- Work in partnership with the Engineering teams to develop and maintain a Bill of Materials (BOM) for all planned maintenance tasks.
- Work in partnership with the Engineering teams to develop and maintain Job Plans in Maximo with all necessary materials requirements.
- Provide training to all Maximo users on catalogue searching techniques and address all catalogue related queries.
- Define and implement a structured method for auditing the inventory catalogue and apply corrective and improvement activities as required.
- Provide suggestions for enhancements and improvements to Maximo and participate in data cleansing activities.
- Support the development and review of the Asset & Data Information Plan, which is managed by the Engineering Department.
- Plan and facilitate meetings with the RTA asset department to manage all matters relating to the RTA Asset Classification Policy.
- Ensure that all capitalized items are created and managed in accordance with the RTA Asset Classification Policy.
KEY SKILLS
- Fluent in English.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Good attention to detail to accurately manage the inventory catalogue.
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work productively in a fast-paced, team-orientated environment.
- Computer literate with sound knowledge of the Microsoft Office application including Outlook, Excel and Word in particular.
KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of ERP / Asset Management systems, preferably IBM Maximo, is essential.
EXPERIENCES
- Stores / warehouse or logistics experience, preferably in rail or a similar industry.
- Experience in a cataloguing or quality related role is advantageous.
EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree, Diploma or other relevant qualification in engineering, supply chain or another relevant discipline.
