Maintenance and Operation Interface Manager

The key purpose of this position is to effectively manage the interfaces between Keolis MHI, Alstom and RTA in Dubai Tram project. The position includes achievement of contractual and internal targets for operations, safety, maintenance coordination and service reliability. Also, to ensure all operations control centre staffs are performing to the required standards and in compliance with the procedures and instructions.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- To manage the system interfaces between Keolis MHI, Alstom and RTA in Dubai Tram project. The Maintenance and Operations Interface Manager will lead & implement an effective Interface Management strategy for Dubai Tram project.
- To represent the team to the RTA, TRA, ACCA and failure review board meetings.
- Develop and update the Standard Operating Procedures for Maintenance Interface Management, Configuration plan, Failure Management, Depot Management, task analysis and work instructions with Operations Control Centre personnel and other managers within the organisation.
- To schedule and undertake oversight inspection of Alstom in conjunction with Keolis MHI SAE Department.
- To ensure all requirements in schedule of contract are met.
- To provide and recommend technical information and advice to the Operations Control Centre personnel.
- Monitor service delivery and manage control room personnel and resources.
- Manage all control room staff and resources to ensure the team is performing to the required standards and in compliance with the procedures and instructions.
- Ensure that all controllers are adequately trained, assessed and certified in their particular function and provide additional support and training if necessary.
- Perform and carry out other duties as instructed / directed by the Operations Manager and/or General Manager.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
- A working understanding of rolling stock, signalling and control room functions.
- An understanding of factors affecting service quality, safety and customer needs.
- Knowledge and understanding of the requirements and workings of the Performance regime.
- Decisive and capable of working under extreme pressure with the ability to take overall command of service variance and incidents and co-ordinate and control resources in an organised and decisive manner.
KEY SKILLS
- Thorough understanding of Tram system and Operations Control Centre.
- Good literacy and analytical skills required for the role.
- Ability to understand complex systems and possess good IT skills.
- Good communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work productively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong organisational skills, detail oriented, and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Ideally hold a valid driving license with a good driving skill and experience.
- Good interpersonal skills and proven ability to manage, motivate, lead and train staff to build a committed and competent team.
- Good communication skills with a clear understanding of the requirements to keep the client informed of service disruption.
EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of 5 years work experience within the rail industry.
- Thorough understanding of Tram system and Operations Control Centre.
- An experienced railway controller or engineer with detailed understanding and working knowledge of safety rules, regulations and emergency procedures and an understanding of relevant legislation.
EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Ideally a Degree holder or high diploma of post-secondary education in a related discipline and/or relevant professional qualification.
