The objective of the Network Engineer in the Keolis MHI organization, is to deploy, monitor and maintain the information technology (IT) network and security infrastructure for KeolisMHI, in line with business requirement to support the information technology services hosted on IT network. 

 

key RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Strategic

  • Managing & monitoring system performance and ensuring reliability and availability of all IT Network in line with service levels agreed with business. To install, configure, maintain the Network and Security infrastructure. 
  • Responsible to assess the effectiveness, efficiency of existing network infrastructure and security infrastructure; develop and implement strategies for improving and security the IT Network.

  • Budgets for IT Network infrastructure maintenance support and capacity enhancement/obsolescence
  • Identify the areas of opportunities within IT Network to optimise the operational costs.

Stakeholder / Customer

  • Work with IT team members, decision makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals, and to identify and resolve business systems issues.
  • Collaborate with systems, security and compliance staff to ensure smooth and secure operation of IT Network to meet business objectives. Provide all systems related support for new IT Network infrastructure.
  • Manager internal and external audits, support in implementation ISO 27001 standard.  

 

Operational

 

  • Role is to establish and maintain IT network environment by designing network configuration solution, directing network and security equipment installation and defining, documenting and enforcing standards.
  • Responsible for management of critical external connections of OT & IT environment with Banks, RTA, Police network and Tram.
  • Responsible to design, implement new solutions, improve resilience of the current environment maximize network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades and collaborating with system architects on network optimization. 
  • Responsible for data network and security fault investigations in LAN, WAN environments using information from multiple sources, secure network systems by establishing and enforcing policies, and defining and monitoring access, support and administer firewall environments in line with IT security policy.
  • Installing, configuring and supporting network equipment including Routers, Network Switches, Load Balancer, WAF, Firewalls (Palo Alto, FortiGate, Juniper) Proxy Servers, Wireless Controllers, DNS and DHCP.
  • Responsible for uptime of all IT Network Infrastructure to 95% on monthly basis, lead the IT Network and security incident troubleshooting and resolution within the agreed SLA.
  • Monitor, review network performance; prepare and deliver network performance statistics and reports.
  • Generate weekly and monthly network performance and operational status by gathering and prioritizing information and managing projects. 
  • Responsible to upgrade data network equipment to the latest stable firmware releases regularly, configure routing and switching equipment’s and firewalls.
  • Responsible to provide remote support to on-site engineers and end users/customers during installation, troubleshooting and fault finding if issues occur upon initial installation.
  • Responsible for capacity management, audit of IP addressing and hosted devices within data centres, liaise with project management teams, third-line engineers and service desk engineers on a regular basis.
  • Ensure all networking and security activities are carried out in line with KeolisMHI IT Governance policy. For example, the solution is reviewed by architecture review board, approved by Change Management team and necessary business approvals. 
  • Responsible to prepare budgets for refresh of end of life hardware and maintenance of networking and security infrastructure, ensure timely renewal of support contract with partners. 
  • The Senior Network Engineer will need to coordinate with the SECOPS Team members to ensure that the network infrastructure is designed and managed in compliance with cybersecurity policies and best practices provided by Rail OT Networking and Cybersecurity Manager.

    Technical Competencies

 

  • Experience to implement and maintain wired, wireless IT Networks, infrastructure, security technologies.
  • Experience of working in different security and network technologies from different vendors, Fortinet, Juniper, Palo Alto, Cisco, Alcatel and Dell.    
  • Deep knowledge of networking protocols such as QoS, 802.11, BGP, IPSEC, OSPF and HRP. Solid understanding of TCP/IP or OSI, along with LAN, WAN, VoIP, WLAN and SAN networks. 
  • Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, firewall, routers, switches, controllers.

Experience

  1. Experience in Network Engineering domain, with working network and security technologies from Cisco, Alcatel, Juniper, Fortinet.
  2. Experience of managing Large Wired and Wireless Network, configuration of Firewalls, WAF, Load Balancers, NAC, Network Monitoring tools etc.

  1. Certifications from Alcatel, Cisco, Security Products OEM
  2. Fluent in English/ability to create network diagrams and present
