OCC Senior Controller

The purpose of this position is to act as the Senior Controller position in Operations Control Centre (OCC) to assist the OCC Duty Manager during incident handling, and supervise the Train Controllers, Depot Controllers, Engineering Controllers, Information/Security Controllers and Assistant Information Controllers during day to day operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic
- Supervision and coordination of train service in Mainline and Depot.
- Act as team leader on shift.
- Assist Train/Depot Controller in supervising, controlling and monitoring the train movement on the mainline.
- Ensure team compliance with Work Instructions, Procedures, Bulletins, MOR’s, SOR’s, and Competency cycle.
Stakeholder / Customer
- Assist the OCC Duty Manager to coordinate with external services during incidents and emergencies.
- Ensure security and integrity of all data provided including reporting performance, finance and customer information; reference Keolis-MHI non-disclosure policy.
Operational
- Perform the duties of other Controller’s (as per competency) when required.
- Perform and carry out other duties as instructed/directed by the Duty Manager and Operations Manager.
- Ensure that end of shift reports are collated, checked and submitted to the Control Centre Duty Manager.
- Perform shift and emergency duties when required.
- Report any accidents, incidents, breaches or potential breaches to appropriate management or the speak up process.
Capability / People
- OCC knowledge of systems and integration of the departments.
- Thorough understanding of train operations in a control room environment including train supervision, train regulation, manual route settings and associated activities in a central control room environment.
- Ensure compliance with the Keolis-MHI Management System and all relevant business processes, procedures and work instructions to deliver all work with appropriate quality and governance standards.
- To exercise personal duty of care for their own health, safety and welfare and for those affected by their acts or omissions; reference SMS GSOP-HSE1-6 Keolis-MHI organisational HSE responsibilities.
KEY COMPETENCIES
Technical Competencies
- OCC knowledge of systems and integration of the departments.
- Thorough understanding of train operations in a control room environment including train supervision, train regulation, manual route settings and associated activities in a central control room environment.

- Good literacy and analytical skills required for the role.
- Ability to understand complex systems and possess good IT skills.
- Good communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work productively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
