To effectively manage and coordinate the Power Distribution System (PDS) interfaces within the Keolis MHI Metro Project between Operations, Maintenance, and RTA functions. The role ensures seamless communication, technical alignment, and compliance with contractual, electrical, and operational standards to achieve service reliability, safety, and performance excellence.

 

  KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic

 

  • Develop and implement the Power Distribution System interface strategy in alignment with the project’s operational and maintenance objectives.
  • Ensure the integration of electrical and power system activities with organizational goals, focusing on system reliability, availability, and lifecycle asset management.
  • Contribute to strategic decision-making by providing expert insights on electrical system coordination, maintenance planning, and performance improvement

 

 

Financial

 

  • Support cost optimization through effective PDS interface planning and coordination to minimize downtime and rework.
  • Ensure adherence to maintenance budgets and efficient use of resources in line with approved financial plans.
  • Identify efficiency improvements that contribute to long-term operational cost savings and energy management.

 

Stakeholder / Customer 

 

  • Serve as the primary liaison between Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality & Assurance, and external stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
  • Represent the department in technical and interface-related meetings with contractors, consultants, client representatives, and regulatory authorities.

 

Operational

 

  • Coordinate all Power Distribution System interface activities between Engineering and Operations teams to ensure compliance with contractual, electrical, and safety standards.
  • Develop, review, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), configuration plans, and maintenance interface work instructions related to power systems.
  • Oversee electrical inspection programs, performance monitoring, and system audits in collaboration with relevant departments.
  • Ensure timely resolution of PDS interface issues impacting power supply, reliability, or safety

 

     Capability/People

 

  • Ensure engineering and control room personnel are trained, certified, and competent in power distribution system management processes.
  • Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and promote continuous improvement within the engineering team.

 

     Dimensions

 

  • Direct management of Power Distribution System interface processes and coordination activities.
  • Oversight of performance KPIs related to electrical system reliability, maintenance response, and issue closure.
  • Collaboration with multiple departments including Operations Control Centre, Maintenance Planning, and Technical Support.
  • Office-based environment with occasional travel to substations, depots, or operational sites

Education

  1. Degree holder or higher diploma in Electrical or Power Engineering discipline and/or relevant professional qualification.

 

Experience

  1. Experience in the rail or infrastructure industry, preferably in power systems operations or maintenance. 
  2. Proven experience managing electrical systems such as substations, traction power, UPS, and LV distribution.
  3. Experience in engineering–maintenance coordination ensuring alignment between power, system, and operational teams.
  4. Strong knowledge of metro systems, traction substations, and Operations Control Centre (OCC) functions.
  1. Experience in metro or tram interface management roles related to power distribution.
  2. Background in electrical maintenance planning, configuration control, or reliability engineering.
  3. Hands-on experience in incident management and service recovery within a regulated environment.
  4. Exposure to performance regime management and KPI-driven operational improvement.
  5. Prior experience liaising with utilities, regulatory authorities, or government stakeholders.

Skills / Training

  1. Strong technical knowledge of HV/LV systems, substations, transformers, circuit breakers, and protection systems.
  2. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and IT proficiency with the ability to manage complex electrical systems.
  3. Effective communication and coordination skills in a fast-paced environment.
  4. Strong organizational and planning skills, capable of managing multiple priorities.
  5. Proven leadership and mentoring skills to guide and motivate engineering teams.
  6. Ability to work under pressure, take initiative, and adapt to dynamic operational conditions.
  7. Fluent in English (spoken and written).
  1. Valid UAE driving license with field experience.
  2. Working knowledge of SCADA, signalling power interfaces, and traction power systems.
  3. Familiarity with reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety (RAMS) principles.
  4. Understanding of service quality, safety, and customer experience factors.
  5. Proficiency in additional languages (e.g., Arabic) would be an advantage.
