The purpose of this safety critical position is to act as a coordinator between the Train Attendants and the OCC. Train Crew Team Leader position is also required to manage the real time on site timetables and schedules of the Train Attendants.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Enforce safety procedures and instructions and carry out necessary procedures to ensure the safety of members of the public and employees of the railway.
  • Act as Key Instructor / assessor and also be responsible for carrying out CMS assessments for Train Attendants.
  • Comply fully with procedures and work instructions as part of the certified training and induction courses for train drivers.
  • Ensure to carry out briefings on safety critical notices, operations notices to all Train Attendants.
  • Responsible between the OCC and the Train Attendants on the main line to communicate regarding main line operations.
  • Maintains records, prepares reports, and composes correspondence relative to the work.
  • Ability to interpret and explain appropriate work instructions and guidelines to subordinate employees.
  • Ability to determine the need for revision and/or change in work area instructions.
  • Ability to solve problems related to the work.
  • Ability to quickly and accurately make decisions under degraded emergency conditions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and follow the safety critical communication protocol.
  • Ability to maintain composure under stressful conditions
  • Report for duty fully prepared deliver a safe, reliable, world class, customer focused train service.
  • When dealing with customers, ensure that matters are handled tactfully and sensitively as appropriate and strictly follow the guidelines, procedures and instructions of the organisation.
  • Operate passenger / maintenance vehicles in all operating modes in the assigned area as required.
  • Render all possible assistance to customers, in particular those with special accessibility needs.
  • Perform shift and emergency duties when required.
  • Carry out Performance Management for Train Attendants.
  • Perform and carry out other duties as instructed / directed by the Train Crew Supervisor and Train Crew Manager.
  • Manage roaster, and optimizing the utilization of spare staff.
  • Proper handling and control the inventory of the job needed equipment/ tools.

 

 

KEY SKILLS 

  • Holder of a valid UAE driving license with good driving skills and experience.
  • Must have good eyesight and normal colour vision.
  • A mature, proactive and responsible approach to work with initiative and problem solving capability.
  • Ability to liaise in a professional and persuasive manner with staff at all levels in the organisation.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work productively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

 

EXPERIANCE

  • A minimum of 8 months, preferably 2 years of Train Attendants position experience.
  • A minimum of 8 months experience of driving passengers in a safe manner according to prescribed routes.
  • Experience of working as a front line staff in a customer oriented and customer focused environment.
  • Previous experience of managing rosters and service schedules would be desirable.
  • Experience and understanding of dealing with customers and conflict resolution techniques.

 

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFCATION

  • Ideally a degree holder or high diploma in management is a highly desirable.
